Jackie Homiak pitched Caravel to a 3-2 win against Smyrna in the State Championship Softball Game. Jennifer Taylor started for the Eagles. Shortstop Lindsay Long led off the game with a bunt single...
..and scored the first run of the game. Outfielder Kim Helm drove in a run during a 3-run first inning where Smyrna made four errors. Smyrna's Megan Hanebutt drove in the first run for Smyrna with a double.
Christin Mills is in a pickle down the third base line as the Eagles maneuver to make a play.  Kim Dixon pitched four scoreless innings of relief for Smryna. Erin Blibrough played flawless defense at third for the Bucs.

Caravel needed to throw out the potential game-tying run late in the game. The Caravel Buccaneers quadruple-peat as Delaware State Softball Champions.
