Carly Falgowski’s rebound goal defeated JMU 1-0 in the CAA tournament. Ms Falgowski was named to the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All-South Region team. Jane Sackovich scored her fourth goal of the season in Harvard’s 2-1 win over Columbia. Sister Beth was named to the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All Northeast Region team as well as the All-Ivy team. Jessica Cowperthwait is a CAA first team honoree. For the third straight season, she started all of Hofstra’s games in goal. She was also named to the 2005 Mideast All-Region Team. Meredith Brown led the Hoosiers in assists this season with ten. Michelle Huynh-Ba was one of four unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selections. Her 14 goals was third in the conference and gave her 33 in her second Spartan career, 7th all time at MSU. She was also selected to the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All West RegionPaige Schmidt was named the Ivy League’s 2005 Player of the Year. Her eleven goals led the league. She was also named to the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All-Mid-Atlantic Region team. Sister Hillary was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the week ending November 6 for her game-winning goal against Penn. She earned second team All Ivy honors. Midfielder Maren Ford joined Paige on the All Ivy First Team and was also named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region team.Jess Zutz (8G, 1A) and Julia Drewes (5G, 3A) finished second and third in scoring at Stanford. Ms Zutz was named to the All-NorPac Second Team. Katie Stevenson received All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors and was named to the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA Division I Mid-Atlantic Regional Team. A starter in 17 games as a freshman, Maureen Meara has been named to the CAA’s All-Rookie team. Heather Rogers had five defensive saves on the season for Bucknell. Amanda Warrington was named to the 2005 Dartfish/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team, despite missing six games because of injury. Jackie Ciconte crowned her four years at Maryland with a national championship. She scored the game-winner in the Terps’ 3-2 win over Old Dominion in the semifinals and the game’s only goal in the 1-0 victory over Duke in the finals. Her 20 goals lead the Terps and gives her 54 in her career. She is a First Team All-Mid-Atlantic selection. Sarah Schmidt was named to the All-Big East Second Team. Whitney Wells was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year. She has scored 13 goals this season and 38 for her career. Dani Schneider finished the season with five defensive saves for Catawba. Erin Frederick had 3 shutouts, 124 saves, a save percentage of .855 and a goals against average of 1.56 for Houghton. Meghan Hihn finished the season with five goals and two assists, second on the team for the Red Devils. In goal, Kaitlin Harker made 152 saves. Brittany Croll, Dani Unflat, Summer Spicer and Brenna Dolphin were named to the 2005 All-Centennial Conference team. Coaches in the Commonwealth Coast Conference named Whitney Plaster to the All- CCC’s first team. In the Kenyon cage, Kim Brown recorded eight shutouts while making 78 saves with a .812 save percentage. Andrea Fleming a three-time All-ODAC First Team selection led the conference in goals with 24 and points with 54. She was joined on the All-ODAC team by Dawn McGaha. Jenna Schwind scored two NCAA Tournament game-winners in Messiah’s run to the finals. Ms Schwind finished the season with 21 goals (6 GWs) and 5 assists and was named to the All-Commonwealth Conference First Team.
Salisbury won a record setting third consecutive national championship with a 1-0 win over Messiah Saturday. Brittany Elliott was named the CAC Player of the Year and was joined by teammate Tracey Lloyd on the All-CAC First Team. Stephanie Smith went 9-7 in her first season in the Ducks’ nest with 5 shutouts, 85 saves and a .759 save percentage. Caitlin Meara was voted to the All-Commonwealth Conference First Team. Ms Meara, who started all 74 games of her career without missing a contest, finished with 11 goals and 20 assists for 42 career points.Kate Lester was selected to the All-ODAC team for the second time in her career. Ms Lester capped her career with 41 points on 13 goals and 15 assists. Dani Vincent, Lindsey Williams, Brittany Baily and Julene Gamble were named to the All-PAC team.
