SALISBURY FIELD HOCKEY ADVANCES TO REGIONAL FINAL, 4-0
Sea Gulls One Step From Return Trip to Final Four

SALISBURY, Md. * The two-time defending NCAA Division III national champion
Salisbury field hockey team took another step toward third straight trip to the
Final Four Saturday afternoon as the Sea Gulls out shot Oberlin College 29-6 en
route to a 4-0 shutout of the Yeowomen (16-5) in the Regional semifinal at the
SU Athletics Complex.

Salisbury (18-1) play the winner of the Skidmore College-Rowan University game
which will be played later in the daym to see who will advance to the NCAA
Division III Final Four next weekend in Lexington, Va.

The Sea Gulls' Megan Powell scored a pair of goals and Brittany Elliott added
one of her own as SU built a 2-0 lead at intermission and never looked back.

Elliott put Salisbury on top 18:52 into the contest when she nailed a penalty
stroke against losing goalkeeper Lauren Malinowski. Malinowski finished the
match with 16 saves against SU.

Powell scored her 15th goal of the season with 2:23 left in the first half after
teammate Abby Rowe missed a shot from in close. Powell was there to cash in the
loss ball, giving Salisbury a two-goal cushion.

Tracey Lloyd created a 3-0 Sea Gull lead with 22:00 remaining, scoring on a
penalty stroke. It was Lloyd's 10th goal of the season.

Powell finished off the scoring at the 67:56 mark when she took a pass from
Lloyd in traffic and slammed the ball into the back of the box.

Maria Ramoundos recorded the victory for Salisbury in goal, picking up four
saves in the process.

Salisbury held a 13-6 advantage in penalty corners.
