Pennsylvanians Sweep HS Field Hockey in Diamond State Games

NEW CASTLE- Lanco Premier from Lancaster, PA defeated the Zutz Group from Mountain Top, PA 2-0 in the gold medal match of the open high school field hockey division at the 2004 Diamond State Games on 6-26.

Twenty-seven teams competed in pool play throughout the course of the day. Only two teams from Delaware, The Stars and Strikers Forever club and Dover High School advanced to the playoff round of eight.

Wyoming Valley West HS, from Pennsylvania, took home the bronze medal.

In the Under 14 division, Mr. Delaney’s Stick Gals from Nanticoke, PA won the gold medal. The Delaware Sharks won the silver medal and The Wildthings from Pasadena, MD won the bronze.
