Leigh Giacco scored the second goal of the game for Tower Hill which proved to be the game winner as the Hillers defeated the Delmar Wildcats 3-1 in the State Championship Field Hockey game. Junior Paige Schmidt assisted on the game winner and scored the third goal of the game for some insurance for Tower Hill.
Jennifer Hastings scored the first goal of the game in the first half for Delmar's lone goal. The Wildcats played in their first ever state championship final. They end their fine season with a 14-5 record.
The Hillers win for the third year in a row and for the fifth time under head coach Robin Adair.

Delmar's Rebecca Gum scored the loan goal for the Wildcats as they defeated Archmere Academy in the semifinal round of the State Field Hockey Tournament. The Wildcats enter the State Championship Final as the #8 seed with a 14-4 season record Paige Schmidt, #12, scored three goals in the first half for Tower Hill as the Hillers knocked out Wilmington Friends 4-0. Mauri Liberati scored the 4th goal. Tower Hill improves to 17-2 and will attempt to defend their state championship at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Fred Rullo Stadium in Newark
