College Report Paige’s pair proved too much for the Big Red, Hillary added a helper. The Terps enjoyed a two-win weekend with Jackie Ciconte scoring goals in both. Michelle Huynh-Ba’s team-leading sixth of the season wasn’t enough as her Spartans came up short in Iowa City, 3-2. Jess Zutz scored twice but a 3-0 second half lead didn’t hold up as the Cardinal fell on penalty strokes to Pacific, 4-3. Sara Schmidt was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week. Her Wildcats are nationally ranked for the first time. On Sunday, one Schmidt beat two Schmidts as Nova knocked off Princeton 3-2. Sara had an assist, Hillary a goal. Carly Falgowski’s PC goal in the 69th minute won it for William& Mary and spoiled the dedication of the Dragons’ new turf field as the Tribe nipped Drexel 1-0. Dani Schneider has five defensive saves for Catawba. Erin Frederick made13 saves in recording her second shutout of the year, 1-0 over Mercyhurst. Brittany Touchard scored and assisted for CNU in the Lady Captains’ routs of Randolph Macon and Frostburg. Alex Albright got the Camels’ first goal in a 3-2 win over Wellesley. Brittany Croll converted an OT penalty stroke to lead the Diplomats over Washington, 1-0. Kim Brown’s fifth shutout of the season was a 2-0 win over Wooster. Andrea Fleming enjoyed consecutive hat ticks against Easter Mennonite and Sweet Briar. Dawn McGaha had four assists on the week and Cheyanne Pritchard a defensive save to help preserve the win over Mary Washington. Dani Unflat caught fire this week with four goals in three games; she leads the Green Terror with six on the season. Tracey Lloyd scored and Brittany Elliott added two assists as Salisbury won their 43rd game in a row, 5-2 over Messiah. Ashley Rowell had the game-winner in the Crusaders’ 2-0 win at Immaculata. Summer Spicer scored twice as Swarthmore swatted Bryn Mawr 9-0. Kristin Ward recorded an assist for Washington against Rowan. Kate Lester scored her first of the season for the Generals. Nikki Bosso assisted on the GW as the Pioneers defeated FDU 3-1. Whitney Well’s goal and Shannon Taylor’s assist had the Spiders one goal up on #1Wake Forest at the half but the Demon Deacons scored three unanswered goals to remain unbeaten.
