Juniata Defeats Elizabethtown 3-0

 

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- Nationally second-ranked Juniata College dispatched Elizabethtown in three games, 30-11, 30-18, 30-24, Tuesday night in a Commonwealth Conference match at Juniata. Etown dropped to 17-12 overall and 4-3 in the conference with the loss, while Juniata improved to 29-1 overall and 7-0 in the conference with the win.

            Kelly Downs ( Airville , PA /Red Lion) led Etown in kills with nine and in blocks with two, while Ashley Whitmarsh ( New Castle , DE / Padua Academy ) had six kills and led the Blue Jays in service aces with three. Stacey Wasserman ( Upperco , MD /Owings Mills) led Etown in digs with nine and in assists with 17.

            Eliabethtown will return to action at home Saturday, October 29 when it hosts both Gettysburg College and Shippensburg University beginning at 11:00 a.m.
