A winless weekend for the Hens in what was not a "Blue Hen Classic." On the bright side, Erin Marihugh tallied her first Delaware goal and added an assist while Amanda Warrington registered an assist in a 7-2 thumping by Duke. On Sunday, Whitney Wells’ pair quickly erased the Hens’ 2-0 halftime lead (courtesy of Stephanie Swain and Ms Warrington). Shannon Taylor, who tore up the Henlopen Conference in 2000 and 2001 for Seaford, administered the coup de grace as Richmond came from way back to fry the Hens 3-2. Jackie Ciconte bagged both, off PCs, the second with 00:00 on the clock, as the unbeaten Terps topped Ohio State 2-1. Michelle Huynh-Ba struck twice as her Spartans baited the Berkeley Bears 4-1. Paige Schmidt assisted on Princeton’s only goal, as the Tigers were tamed by American, 4-2. Jessica Zutz scored her second and third goals of the season in Cardinal losses to Iowa and Syracuse this weekend. Sara Schmidt notched the game winner as Villanova garroted Georgetown 7-1. Katie Neeman scored in her college debut for the Red Devils. Brittany Croll paced Franklin & Marshall to their second consecutive Drew Fall Festival championship. She scored both in a 2-0 win over C W Post on the first day and assisted in the Diplomats’ 2-1 overtime win versus Drew in the final. MIT’s Noelle Kanaga recorded an assist while Katie Boothe won praise for her defensive efforts in MIT’s 4-3 win over Gordon. Whitney Plaster collected a PC assist for the Fighting Scots in the Cambridge loss. Dani Unflat and Mel Thompson combined for four goals and two assists as McDaniel mauled Notre Dame 7-0. Jenna Schwind scored as Messiah defeated William Smith 4-2 in the first game of the post Danae Chambers era. Tracey Lloyd and Brittany Elliott combined for a goal and two assists as the defending national champions defeated St Mary’s 3-1 in their 2005 opener. Stephanie Smith won a 1-0 shut out in her opener at Stevens then had to hang on for dear life in game two as the Ducks prevailed in a wild 6-4 shootout. Summer Spicer scored twice and added two assists as Swarthmore swatted Villa Julie 5-1. For VJC Jacquie Healy made 15 saves while facing 30 shots. Andrea Fleming scored in both games, running her career total to 69 goals, but Lynchburg, favorites to win it all in the ODAC, lost a pair, 4-1 to Elizabethtown and 3-2 to Muhlenberg. Kim Brown stopped all seven shots as Kenyon blanked Sewanee 1-0.
